Six units responded to a grassfire in Howard County around 10:30 AM Tuesday. The blaze sparked near F.M. 821 and Snyder Field Road. The fire only burned around 20 acres, but it did take down a power line.
At one point, a house was threatened, but crews were able to get the blaze contained before it reached the residence.
Another fire broke out off TX 302 between West Odessa and Notrees. That fire was also started by a downed power line, and burned about 80 acres before it was brought under control.
A third fire broke out near the Family Dollar Distribution Center of Interstate 20 in Odessa Tuesday afternoon. Crews had that grass fire under control quickly. The cause of the fire is unknown.
