MIDLAND COUNTY -- More information has been released on a pit fire that broke out near Midland International Airport Monday night.

The blaze broke out around 8 PM Monday at Patterson Drilling U.T.I. Workers had been welding and cutting in the area earlier in the day. By the evening hours, some scrap metal, lumber and old rig equipment in a trash pit caught fire.

Fire crews were able to contain the blaze and put it out. Patterson Drilling helped fire crews by moving large debris.

No one was hurt in the fire. The cause of the fires is still under investigation.
