AUSTIN -- Representative Tom Craddick was in a meeting of the Transportation Committee on Wednesday morning when he fell, hitting his head.

Craddick's office in Austin says that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but that E.M.S. crews felt he was not suffering from anything serious. He was actually sitting up and making jokes as he was taken out of the hearing room.

Craddick has been rehabilitating a pain in his leg and recently taking pain medication for an infected tooth.

He had a bad reaction to that medication, and is expected to be discharged from the hospital Thursday morning.
