Midland Teen Arrested For Break-In And Assault

MIDLAND -- A Midland teen is behind bars, accused of breaking into an apartment and assaulting a woman.

    Nicodemus Alvarado was arrested on Sunday morning. According to an arrest affidavit, Alvarado, 18, forced his way into a woman's apartment and punched her in the face. The woman called 911, but Alvarado grabbed her cell phone and removed the battery. A friend of Alvarado tried to get him to leave, but Alvarado pushed that friend out the door.

    When Midland Police arrived, Alvarado was still on the scene, and they arrested him. Officers also found a small bag of cocaine in Alvarado's front pants pocket while searching him.

    Alvarado is facing charges of burglary with intent to commit assault, interference with an emergency phone call and possession of cocaine. He's being held on $50,000 bond.
