Urenco Primed for Further Eunice Expansion

By: Karl Rundgren
Updated: March 14, 2011
EUNICE, NM -- A uranium enrichment facility in Eunice could be the site of a third expansion.

If URENCO, USA expands, it would double the plants capacity.

However, CEO Gregory Smith says this is not a done deal.

The facility started last summer, making it the first major nuclear facility licensed in the US in thirty years.

This expansion would mean more construction, and more jobs, lasting through 2017.

URENCO supplies fuel for nuclear power plants around the globe.
