Updated: June 4, 2012

MIDLAND -- The Lee Lady Rebels basketball team has made the post season the past two seasons under head coach Rosalind Lawrence. But next year, they'll have to go to the playoffs under a different coach.

Lawrence has stepped down as the Lady Rebels Head Coach. She spent three seasons at Lee, turning the program around from a three win season its first year, to a playoff team the following two.

MISD Athletic Director Todd Howey told Big 2 Sports the school would love to have Lawrence back next season, but it was her decision to leave.

As for finding a replacement, Howey said the coaching search is underway, and interviews should begin next week.
