ANDREWS -- Andrews athletic director and head football coach Jeff Cordell is on administrative leave after he was arrested early Saturday morning with a DWI charge.

Andrews superintendent Bobby Azam told the Odessa American Cordell is still employed with the district. The next step would be for Cordell to either resign immediately, or be placed on a one year probation period and complete an alcohol counseling program approved by the district.

Cordell has been the head coach for the Andrews Mustangs football team since 2008.
