ANDREWS-- Andrews ISD Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jeff Cordell has been reassigned within the district.

Cordell was arrested and charged with a DWI back on June 9th.

AISD Superintendent Dr. Bobby Azam sent Big 2 an email with the districts response for reassigning Cordell.

"In accordance with state law and AISD policy, Jeff Cordell remains employed with AISD and has been re-assigned within the district.

There are numerous details to be finalized in fulfilling the current AD/Head football coaching responsibilities. Once finalized, we will first inform our parents and student athletes, outlining the immediate future of AISD athletics. We will then inform all media sources.

Our AISD student athletes are in great hands and all necessary plans and program responsibilities are in place to provide our student athletes the greatest opportunity for success."
