Mojo Prepare For Montwood

ODESSA -- Permian is the only local 5A school that will begin its season on the road.
The Panthers will travel to El Paso to take on the Montwood Rams on Friday. The Rams are expected to fight for a district title in 1-5A, but the Panthers have already seen one team from that district.
The Mojo scrimmaged El Paso El Dorado last Friday. Permian failed to shine in that contest, Coach Gaines saw enough good things from his team to expect a strong start to the season.
"Well I think Montwood is one of the better teams in El Paso and we're looking forward to the game," said Gaines. "We need to play somebody. We had a good scrimmage last week with El Dorado who are in the same district. Started out a little bit slow but when we got into the game like situation we played a little bit better. We've got a long way to go, most teams probably do. There's a lot of things that we have got to get cleaned up and improve but we're looking forward to the game. I think that's why you practice and they should be looking forward to the game and i think they'll play well."
