MIDLAND -- The Lee Rebels haven't won a district opener since 2009.

That is until last Friday.

In a hostile environment at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene, Lee took care of Cooper with a 28-20 final. The night belonged to running back James McAfee who racked up 250 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

The Rebels head into a bye week with a 1-0 record in 2-5A, and that makes James Morton a satisfied coach.
