MIDLAND -- Libraries are normally quiet places, but this weekend kids got a free pass to make noise for the sake of a good cause.

Saturday the downtown Midland Library and the West Texas Food Bank came together to throw a fall festival.

Kids got to dress up in costumes, while the library provided free treat bags, animal balloons, a magic show and more.

The event was free, families were just asked to bring can good donations to help the food bank during the critical holiday months.

Organizers say, while the fall fest was put on to show the children some fun, it also showed them the importance of helping others in need.
