Saturday, United for Hailey set up a booth at the Dee's Trade Show in Big Spring in an effort to continue to spread the word of Hailey's disappearance and to raise funds for the cause.
The United for Hailey booth was just one of many set up at the trade show. Despite recent developments in the case, United for Hailey member Melissa Gooch says the search will continue.
"We have been actively working searching, looking, praying," said Gooch.
She said there has been some confusion due to those recent developments, and that people believe the search is off.
"Hailey Dunn is still missing, with the news last week a lot of people are mistaken in their information."
Gooch is refereeing to a newly release letter from a federal prisoner in Abilene to her sister that explains Hailey may have been held up in an Odessa home and drugged to death. Officials haven't confirmed or denied the inmate's story.
Despite the inmate's tale, United for Hailey is still out showing support. The booth set up at the trade show was filled with t-shirts and other items that were meant to be sold to bring in a special search group."
"They are also working on bringing in a team of at least 8 dogs of varying degrees of certification to help find Hailey along with five handlers," said Gooch.
The searchers and dogs work for free, but housing, travel and food expenses have to be paid for.
Gooch said it's necessary to take actions like this because every child and person deserves to be found.
