ODESSA -- After two big wins in the district to get them back into the playoff picture, the Permian Panthers laid an egg against Cooper, falling to the Cougars by 38 points at Shotwell Stadium

During their previous two wins, the Panthers relied heavily on running back Jorrion Wilson who ran the ball 77 times for 441 yards. Against Cooper, Wilson only got the ball 14 times for 57 yards. The reason for that was because they fell behind big, early in the game and was forced to throw the ball.

Quarterback Jack Wilkins threw a Permian record 54 times and completing 23 passes while Andrew Perez caught a record 15 balls.

But this Cooper team was too much.

"Jack and Andrew were having some good team ups together on the passing game and we kind of rode that thing as far as we could," said Head Coach Gary Gaines."Cooper had a good football team. They were explosive offensively. I thought their defense did really well. Jack was under a lot of pressure all night and took some big hits but stood in there like a trooper and delivered on some good balls to our receivers."
