London Unseats Mendoza As Eddy County (NM) Sheriff

ARTESIA, NM -- A new sheriff will soon be taking over in Eddy County, NM.

    Artesia Police Sgt. Scott London defeated incumbent Ernest Mendoza for the Eddy County Sheriff position in the November 6th elections.

    London won election by 1,292 votes (9,844 to 8,572).

    London says he's the first Republican sheriff in Eddy County history.

    London has already begun a nationwide search for an Undersheriff.
