Two gas lines exploded outside of the D.C.P. Midstream plant near Goldsmith around 6 PM Thursday.
The Ector County Sheriff's Office isn't releasing a lot of information on the incident at this time, but a viewer told Big 2 that the ground shook in the area at the time of the explosion.
A large fire also broke out in the area of the explosion.
West Odessa Volunteer Firefighters say that the blaze torched a welding shop and some utility poles in the area.
The owner of the ruptured lines -- West Texas Gas -- shut off 4 miles of the line and let the fire burn out.
The fire was ultimately extinguished around 7:30 PM Wednesday -- after it had burned for about an hour and a half.
The power also had to be shut off to nearby homes and businesses.
D.C.P. Midstream evacuated all employees from the plant safely after the explosion happened.
As of 7:30 PM Wednesday, there are no reports of any injuries from the explosion.
TX 158 will remain closed in the area of the explosion overnight, due to debris on the road.
