ODESSA -- The rodeo is back in the Permian Basin.

The 80th Annual Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo kicked off Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa.

The Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo is traditionally one of the first rodeos on the circuit each year.

Cowboys and cowgirls from all over come West Texas to try and start the year on the right foot.

"We have all of the P.R.C.A. events," Brooke Turner of the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo told Big 2. "So you're going to see broncs, roping, barrels, we'll have all three of our bull fighters out, we'll have our barrel clown, so there's going to be something out here for everyone to enjoy."

The rodeo runs through January 12th, with performances starting at 7 PM.

Tickets range from $13 to $17, and they can be purchased by clicking here.
