Man Hit By Train Charged With DWI

MIDLAND--One man is in the hospital and being charged with DWI after the vehicle he was in was hit by a train near the intersection of Carver Street and Davis Avenue in Midland.

Officials responded to the scene at 5:38 Saturday evening. 60-year-old Benjamin Oakes said he ran through the crossing arms and stopped on the track when his blue GMC Sierra was hit.

He was the only person in the vehicle. Oakes was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
