Former President George HW Bush is enjoying watching football as he recovers at a Houston hospital.

Officials say Mr. Bush has enjoyed watching recent wins by Texas A and M and the Houston Texans.

The latest statement offered no details on Bush's condition or treatment.

He was moved out of the hospital's intensive care unit just over a week ago where had been listed in guarded condition while receiving treatment for what officials said was "a stubborn fever."

He has been hospitalized since November 23rd.

Four months older than former President Jimmy Carter, the 88 year old Bush is the oldest of the living former presidents.
