FORT DAVIS---Jeff Davis County is used to seeing about three to four snowfalls per year, but are they prepared for them is the question.
Sheriff Rick McIvor is the Jeff Davis County and has lived in Fort Davis his whole life.
"We'll get two probably good wet snow and then we'll get some dry snows" says Sheriff McIvor.
Because precipitation is pretty rare in West Texas, Sheriff McIvor says that Jeff Davis County is happy with any of it that comes their way.
"We'll take all the moisture we can get" says Sheriff McIvor.
But with the snow comes risky road conditions, so Sheriff McIvor says to make sure to be extra cautious when driving.
Sheriff McIvor warns "if you know the roads are wet, there's always a possibility of them freezing over".
With the help of the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT), Jeff Davis county has been able to go about their usual day on Wednesday, even with the possibility of a second snow fall this year.
"Texdot working hard 24 hours, pushing snow, putting salt down, sand down, you know cleaning it up" says Sheriff McIvor "I mean they do a good job".
