WEST ODESSA -- Ector County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a West Odessa shooting that likely stemmed from a family dispute.

Deputies say someone shot a man in his upper body in the 1800 block of Neptune Avenue around 1 PM Monday.

The victim -- who's described as a white man who's in his mid-40s -- was rushed to Medical Center Hospital after the shooting

The man's condition was unknown Monday evening.

Deputies say an ongoing family dispute might have led to the shooting.

Deputies have detained one person for questioning, and they've been interviewing family members and witnesses as well.

As of Monday evening, no names have been released in the incident.
