MIDLAND -- Children gathered around at the George W. Bush Childhood Home Thursday afternoon for February's free reading event. It's a staple of the Laura Bush Literacy Program.

With February marking President's Day and Flag Day the books all had a presidential or American theme this month.

Big 2's Shelby Levins was honored to be the guest reader.

The children enjoyed snacks as part of the event and then each young student walked out with his or her own book.

This free reading event is held the third Thursday of every month.
