Midland Man Accused Of Leading Troopers On High-Speed Chase While Drunk

Salvador Nichols III was arrested on March 2nd.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say that Nichols, 24, was clocked speeding at 91 mph eastbound on Business 20 in Midland County on March 2nd.
A trooper tried to pull over Nichols, but he reportedly kept driving until he got near the Gateway Plaza Apartment near the intersection of Loop 250 and Business 20.
Nichols reportedly ditched his Lincoln town car and ran.
Troopers tried to use a taser to slow down Nichols, but he reportedly evaded the taser and went into his apartment.
Troopers reportedly went into the apartment and tried to take Nichols into custody.
Nichols reportedly resisted arrest before troopers could slap the cuffs on him,
Troopers suspected that Nichols was drunk, but he reportedly refused to take a sobriety test.
Now, Nichols is charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest and D.W.I.
As of Wednesday evening, Nichols was being held in the Midland County Detention Center on $26,000 bond.
