ODESSA -- Permian held its final spring football event at Ratliff Stadium on Friday night, as the White team walked away with a 21-14 win over the Black team.

Jack Wilkins got the start at quarterback for the white team, while Heath Wood was behind the center for the Black team. Wilkins is the incumbent starter for the Panthers after passing for 1,457 yards and 12 scores last season.

Star players such as running back Jorrian Wilson and left tackle Shawn Pierce were kept out of the game to avoid any injuries.

Head coach Gary Gaines said for the estimated 165 kids that came out for spring practice this year, it was all about execution.

"We're just looking for execution and just like to see some performance that maybe we didn't see a week ago and the week before that; and to see that they have made improvement over the course of the season."
