WEB EXTRA: Mickey Spagnola Talks Cowboys With Caroline on 9-11-2012

Going into the game, the Cowboys had lost five of the last six games to the Giants; obviously the final game of the season that cost them the NFC East title and a chance to go to the playoffs. If you look at it that way, and then you're on the road against the defending Super Bowl champs on national television, and that's the team that eliminated you last year, it was a very, very big win for them.
I think it's a confidence builder, but it doesn't make the season. They've been preached to all week that it's just one game. There's 15 games to go so there's no 'fat cat' theory going through the locker room this week.
Mickey on the Cowboys' extra days off and injuries:
It's going to help Mike Jenkins out greatly. He's been able to get in three full days of practice this week, and I think there's a pretty good chance he'll be ready to play in this game.
For Phil Costa, it's not going to work out for him, even with the rest, because of the tight back he experienced in the season opener. The x-rays were negative, so at this point it doesn't seem like he needs any sort of surgery. He will miss the Seattle game, so the Cowboys will go with Ryan Cook to replace him.
Mickey on the offensive line:
The Cowboys are banking on the fact the five guys on the line got to play almost an entire game together. You need chemistry, you need cohesion. The line didn't have an opportunity to do that in the preseason, so you have to make the best of what you have. I would imagine being able to practice for an entire week, getting ready for that game, play an entire game, and then come back now and get four days of practice for Seattle will certainly help.
