NFL Refs Ratify New Contract

By: Karl Rundgren
Updated: September 30, 2012
Football fans rejoice!

NFL refs have made it official, signing a new eight-year contract.

That puts an end to the lockout that brought replacement referees to the field--- and left fans moaning about botched calls.

The refs returned to the field Thursday night after the N-F-L struck a deal with officials.

It was formally ratified this Saturday morning.

The new contract offers a pay bump from $149,000 a year in 2011 to $173,000 in 2013.

The pay will rise to $205,000 by 2019.
