Odessa Police say that a 2005 Peterbilt oil tanker was making a right turn from the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 onto the northbound lanes of East Loop 338 around 2:40 PM Tuesday when the tanker overturned.
The weight of the tanker likely caused it to overturn, spilling nonflammable lubricating oil all over East Loop 338.
The driver of the tanker -- Joseph Curette of Crosby -- wasn't injured in the crash.
TXDOT crews had to close East Loop 338 between Business 20 and Interstate 20 as they cleaned up the spilled oil.
TXDOT crews opened one lane in each direction on East Loop 338 around 9 PM Tuesday, and the entire road re-opened at 4:30 PM Wednesday.
Police say Currette, 41, will get a ticket for the wreck.
