2012-13 Odessa Jackalopes Home Opener

ODESSA -- 2012-13 Odessa Jackalopes Home Opening Weekend vs. the Topeka RoadRunners. On Friday October 26th, the first 1,000 fans through the gates at the Coliseum will receive a free 2012-13 Jackalopes magnet schedule and on Saturday, the first 1,000 fans will receive a set of commemorative Jacks trading cards. Doors open at 6 pm and the puck drops at 7:05.

Jackalope Facts:

 - 2012-13 marks the Jackalopes' second season as a Tier-1 Junior "A" team in the North American Hockey League.
 - The Jackalopes are led by Head Coach Paul Gillis, an 11-year NHL veteran in his 18th season as a Head Coach and 6th season in Odessa.
 - In 2011-12, the Jackalopes earned a playoff berth in their inaugural NAHL season, sent seven players on to NCAA Division 1 and Division 3 schools and earned one NHL Draft pick in former Odessa goaltender and 5th round selection of the Winnipeg Jets (130th overall), Connor Hellebuyck (HELL-uh-buck).
 - The Jackalopes are (3-7-1) so far this season and will play their first home games of the year this Friday and Saturday at Ector County Coliseum vs. South Division rivals, the Topeka RoadRunners.
