MIDLAND -- Veterans groups are working together to educate employers about the challenges veterans can face.

A "Serving Those Who Served" event at Midland College focused on detailing the signs and symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome Thursday.

P.T.S.D. is a type of anxiety disorder that can occur after someone sees or experiences a traumatic event that involved the threat of injury or death.

P.T.S.D. can have a range of symptoms --  from flash backs to increased agitation.

The Permian Basin Area Health Education Center and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas put on the professional training event for P.T.S.D. care.

Meanwhile, Midland College hosted a to recognize veterans Thursday.

Both students and staff members who served were honored at the event.

Veterans that Big 2 spoke with Thursday say shows of support make a world of difference to them.
