Department of Justice Filed a Lawsuit Against Ebay

The nation's top law enforcement official has filed an anti-trust lawsuit against the online auction giant eBay.

US Attorney General Eric Holder said today that eBay violated anti-trust laws by agreeing not to hire workers of competitor Intuit.

The suit says that former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and Intuit founder Scott Cook conspired to prevent the hiring of each other's employees.

Intuit was not named in the suit after it negotiated a deal with the government.

Holder said eBay's three year agreement with Intuit lowered workers' salaries and benefits keeping them from better job opportunities at the other company.
Whitman lost her bid to become Governor of California in 2010.
