ODESSA -- An Odessa doctor is accused of dealing meth.

Dr. Barrett Doyle Whitefield (D.O.) was arrested on December 6th in Odessa.

Whitefield, 59, was released from the Ector County Law Enforcement Center after he posted $10,000 bond on December 6th.

Whitefield is now facing federal charges for conspiring to possess and distribute 500 grams of a methamphetamine mixture, 50 grams of actual methamphetamine and a hydrocodone mixture.

Whitefield and 7 others were indicted on meth distribution charges in Midland federal court on November 28th.

Of those indicted, Whitefield, Christina Rene Barfield, Megan Maner and Robert Michael Handlon have been arrested.

Maner was reportedly the victim of a 2011 assault. In that incident, 4 women are accused of breaking into a Midland apartment and attacking Maner while she slept.

The names of the other 4 defendants will be released when they're arrested.

According to the Texas Medical Board, Whitefield has previously been sanctioned in November 2007 and in June 2012.

Whitefield was also ordered to complete a 4 hour ethics or risk management course by June 2013.

Whitefield will be arraigned in Midland federal court on December 18th.
