Work to Affect Traffic on FM 1053 North of Fort Stockton

PECOS COUNTY -- TxDOT workers will be working the rest of the week doing a fog sealing project on FM 1053 north of Fort Stockton as weather permits.

While the work is being done on the two-lane road, traffic will be reduced to one lane. Motorists will have to stop and wait for a pilot vehicle to lead them through the work zone. Flaggers will be stationed at each end of the project to alert motorists where the work is being done.

This is a daytime-only project, so the roads will be open in both directions at night.

The work will begin at mile marker 383, about 15 miles north of Fort Stockton. The crew will work its way south from there.

Motorists will experience short delays, typically less than 15 minutes. Motorists are asked to obey flaggers and follow the pilot car. Extreme caution on the part of motorists is appreciated in work zones.
