House Won't Be Returning This Week

That's just one day before the fiscal cliff deadline on New Year's Eve.
There's no word on a deal to avoid the looming cliff.
An aide to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor tells CNN the House may be in session through Wednesday.
The new 113th Congress convenes at noon next Thursday, January third.
If Congress doesn't reach a fiscal deal before Monday's deadline, automatic tax increases and steep spending cuts take effect.
Members of the U-S Senate returned to work in Washington today Thursday.
