Thursday Snow Event:

We are currently watching a snow event that will impact the Permian Basin starting tonight.

By 5:30am, we expect snow to be falling across the Davis and Guadalupe Mountains.

The entire Trans-Pecos can expect to see snow by 9:30am.

The snow will be falling in the Permian Basin by early afternoon.

The Permian Basin will see a break before snow really begins falling tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, the snow will have been falling in the Trans-Pecos all day.

For these reasons, we are looking at a Winter Storm Warning (>4") for the entire Trans-Pecos and a Winter Weather Advisory (Possible moderate/heavy snow) for the Permian Basin until 6:00am Friday.

Accumulations could reach 8" in the Davis/Guadalupe mountains including Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis and the Guadalupe Pass.

The adjacent plains could see up to 6" while the Permian Basin could see up to 4" of snow.

Beyond that, we won't get much above freezing tomorrow with several areas in the mid-30's, and with lows tonight in the low 20's/teens the road will be cold enough for the snow to accumulate.

Friday:

Snow could continue in the morning before it starts melting off Saturday and Sunday.

Weekend:

We will see a warm up on Saturday into the 50's and the same on Sunday.

Next Week:

Monday and Tuesday, we could be talking 60 degree temps again.
