Crack Sealing Work To Cause Delays Along TX 349 In Upton County

UPTON COUNTY -- Some roadwork could lead to some major delays along an Upton County road in the coming week.

TXDOT workers are putting a crack seal on a 10-mile stretch of TX 349 north of Rankin.

Work on the project began on Friday, and it's expected to last until February 1st.

The crack seal project will prevent moisture from seeping into the base of the road.

The work will also allow the pavement to last longer.

Traffic will be reduced to one-lane in the work zone, with traffic going through the work zone in one direction at a time.

Drivers will have to follow a pilot vehicle through the work zone, and there will be flaggers on both ends of the zone.

Drivers should avoid the area if possible while the project is ongoing.
