The is some welcome good news for the US job market.

First-time jobless claims dipped to 340,000 last week, according to the Labor Department.

That's 7,000 less than the week before.

The numbers are hovering at their lowest levels since 2008.

The decline could mean layoffs have slowed, or that many people have already exhausted their unemployment benefits.
