Large Fire Breaks Out At Abandoned Big Spring Building

BIG SPRING -- An abandoned building catches fire in Big Spring.

    KBYG Radio in Big Spring reports that flames broke out at the old Hall-Bennet hospital building at East 8th Street and Goliad Street around 7:30 PM Wednesday.

    Flames quickly shot into the attic and roof, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the 2nd floor of the abandoned building.

    Two firefighters were taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center with strains to their back and knee, respectively, while fighting the blaze.

    The cause of the fire was unknown Wednesday.
