HOBBS, NM -- What started as a routine fire call turned into something scary in Hobbs.

Firefighters were sent to Tracy Carpenter's home, after reports of it being on fire.  When they arrived they saw the trailer was completely engulfed in flames, and Carpenter was standing outside.

That's when Hobbs Police say that Carpenter began yelling at the firefighters, threatening them and pretending he had a gun.

Hobbs Police finally caught him and brought him to a patrol car. Once they began asking him about the fire, Carpenter started banging his head against the window.

Carpenter has now been charged with evading arrest, obstructing police, and more.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
