Public Meeting Scheduled To Discuss Alleged Corruption In City Of Alpine

ALPINE -- Concerns over corruption in Alpine city government will be the subject of a special meeting later this week.

    Outgoing Alpine City Councilman Carlos Lujan is hosting the a public meeting at 12 PM on March 22nd.

    The meeting will be held at Ivan's Rustic Furniture Store (306 East Holland Avenue) in Alpine.

    Lujan says that he wants anyone who was involved in the recent misappropriation of Alpine funds to be fired.

    At this time, Alpine officials involved in the activated merely need to repay the money.

    The City of Alpine also changed their police on writing checks in light of the incident.

    Lujan is also calling for the firing of Alpine City Manager Chuy Garcia and the recall of Alpine Mayor Dr. Avinash Rangra.
