ODESSA COLLEGE GOLF STANDOUT ABRAHAM ANCER WILL LEAVE THE WRANGLERS AFTER ONE YEAR TO BECOME A SOONER.

ANCER IS COMING OFF WHAT HE CALLED THE BEST YEAR OF HIS LIFE...  HE RECEIVED THE JACK NICHOLAS AWARD FOR PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

ANCER WAS PAID TODAY TO TEE OFF ON THE FIRST HOLE  FOR JOHNSON, WILLIAMS AND THE REST OF THE PARTICIPANTS. OF COURSE THAT MONEY WILL GO TO O-C.

BUT LEAVING ODESSA AFTER ONE YEAR WAS A DIFFICULT DECISION FOR ANCER TO MAKE.

"I HAVE A LOT OF FRIENDS THAT PLAY IN D-ONE AND GUYS THAT PLAY ON TOUR. I TALKED TO THEM ALL SUMMER AND THEY TOLD ME IF YOU CAN, IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY JUST GO BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN. YOU COULD GET INJURED OR SOMETHING. SO GO AND TRY TO PLAY THE BEST OVER THERE TOO. "
