One measure sailed through committee without a single objection.

However a church carry bill riled a few feathers.

Senator Bryan King has proposed giving churches the right to decide if members can concealed carry. The bill was heard just a few minutes ago in the Senate judiciary committee.

Senator Stephanie Flowers, who isn't on the committee, wanted to amend the bill.

Flowers wants to require churches who allow guns to have $100,000 in liability insurance.

King opposed the amendment saying it might raise constitutional issues regarding the separation of church and state.

Flowers responded by saying her amendment would make the bill better.

The committee rejected Senator Flowers amendment and voted to pass the Church Protection Act.

It will now go to the full Senate.

Also today, a resolution telling the President Obama to leave Arkansas guns alone passed in another committee by unanimous vote.
